Boston College’s head coach, Jeff Hafley, must be thrilled and filled with anticipation. Having recently secured Cameron Martinez from the transfer portal, marking his second successful acquisition from Ohio State, Hafley adds depth to his defensive lineup alongside Ryan Turner, who committed to Boston College just the prior week.
Martinez, who saw action in three games this season and participated in all 13 games last year for Ohio State, was initially recruited by Hafley during his tenure at Columbus. A highly regarded four-star prospect in the 2020 class, Martinez redshirted his freshman year, leaving him with two years of eligibility for his stint with the Eagles.
Joining a Boston College team that concluded with a 6-6 record and is set to take on SMU in the Fenway Bowl, Martinez faces an opportunity to contend for immediate playing time in the safety position.
