TreVeyon Henderson has affirmed his presence for the Buckeyes at Jerry World. The junior confirmed he’ll be on the field for the Cotton Bowl Classic against Missouri on Friday in Arlington. While contemplating his future in Columbus for the 2024 season, Henderson expressed uncertainty, mentioning that he’s praying about his decision.

His commitment to the game offers stability to Ohio State’s ground game and adds depth to their offensive strategy. With several changes in their running back lineup due to draft declarations and transfers, Henderson’s participation provides a boost. This move leaves Ohio State with two scholarship running backs available for the matchup against the Tigers (10-2), with Dallan Hayden as the alternative should Henderson face any setbacks.

Although Henderson might consider returning to pursue a Big Ten title next season, there’s speculation that his draft status may have peaked. Despite being considered a Day 2 pick, running backs often witness a decline in draft prospects due to accumulated reps and age in college.

Reflecting on his time with the team, Henderson emphasized personal growth rather than championships. In his nine games, he amassed significant yardage and touchdowns, showcasing his prowess on the field.

Joining Denzel Burke, Henderson is among the confirmed players set to participate in Friday night’s game at AT&T Stadium. However, receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. was absent from practice and might opt out. On the other hand, tight end Cade Stover, linebacker Tommy Eichenberg, and defensive linemen J.T. Tuimoloau and Mike Hall Jr. are expected to play after their practice involvement.
