The Cleveland Browns secured a playoff spot by defeating the New York Jets 37-20. Joe Flacco, the Browns’ fourth starting quarterback due to injuries this season, threw for 309 yards and three touchdowns, solidifying their position for at least a wildcard entry. There’s a chance they could surpass the Baltimore Ravens to claim the AFC North title or even secure the conference’s top seed. This marks only their second playoff appearance in 21 years.

In this game, veteran Flacco, previously released by the Jets, connected with Jerome Ford for two touchdowns, contributing to the Browns’ 34-17 halftime lead. He also threw a 30-yard touchdown pass to Ronnie Hickman but faced a setback when Jermaine Johnson intercepted one of his passes and returned it for a 37-yard touchdown.

The second half transitioned into a defensive struggle, resulting in both teams only managing a field goal each. Even Flacco experienced the weariness of the match’s lack of excitement.
