The Cleveland Browns have added veteran quarterback Jeff Driskel to their roster as the third quarterback option, joining Joe Flacco and PJ Walker.

The team announced Driskel’s signing from the Arizona Cardinals practice squad, intending for him to potentially play in the Browns’ upcoming season finale against the Cincinnati Bengals. To accommodate his addition, the Browns waived defensive end Sam Kamara.

Standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 235 pounds, Driskel, in his eighth NFL season from Louisiana Tech, brings prior starting experience. Initially drafted by the 49ers in the sixth round of the 2016 draft, he has seen game time across various teams.

Throughout his NFL career, the 30-year-old quarterback has participated in 23 games, making 11 starts with the Bengals (2018), Detroit Lions (2019), Denver Broncos (2020), and Houston Texans (2021-22), tallying a 2-9 record in games he started.

Driskel’s career stats include completing 216 of 365 passes for 2,228 yards and 14 touchdowns. He has also accumulated 384 rushing yards with three scores. In the 2022 season, he made two starts for the Texans before spending the majority of the current season on the Cardinals’ practice squad.
