Ipswich Town’s scheduled match against QPR in the Championship faced a temporary suspension following a medical emergency involving a fan seated in the Sir Alf Ramsey Stand. The interruption led to the postponement of Friday night’s game as paramedics swiftly attended to the situation, covering the area with a blue blanket.
The second-half kickoff was delayed while both teams awaited the resumption signal. The PA system at Portman Road announced a six-minute warm-up to ensure the players were ready to restart the match.
A stretcher was brought forward to aid the fan, and after about 20 minutes, applause filled the stadium as the individual was carefully stretchered away behind the goal area, shielded by a plastic sheet to maintain privacy.
Ipswich’s official Twitter account shared, “The paramedics provided assistance to the supporter in the Sir Alf Ramsey Stand, and our thoughts are with everyone involved.”
Under Kieran McKenna’s guidance, Ipswich currently holds the second position in the Championship, displaying a strong performance and eyeing a remarkable promotion to the Premier League.
