Ipswich Town’s Kieran McKenna provides Updates on Massimo Luongo’s injury, says he will undergo scans on his injured ankle in the upcoming week.

The absence of Luongo from the starting lineup against Sunderland came as a surprise, especially with captain Sam Morsy already serving a two-game suspension.

Following Ipswich’s resilient performance and a come-from-behind 2-1 victory, McKenna disclosed that Luongo sustained the injury during training the previous week. Describing the incident, McKenna mentioned, “He rolled his ankle in a really unfortunate incident on Thursday.” The manager expressed concern over the severity of the injury, emphasizing that scans scheduled for the week ahead would provide more information. Despite the hope that the injury is not overly severe, McKenna acknowledged the presence of swelling and confirmed that Luongo was not in a condition to participate in the recent match.
