Larry Johnson’s Plan for Transition as a Coach
Coach LJ holds a special place in this program, and I hold deep respect for everything he has contributed. That being acknowledged, the Buckeyes need to consider how to navigate his eventual retirement, which appears to be on the horizon.
I advocate for bringing in someone who can not only learn from Coach LJ but also contribute to recruiting, ensuring a seamless transition. We’ve witnessed instances where exceptional offenses were squandered due to poor defensive hires or solid defenses hampered by mistakes on the offensive side. It’s crucial to learn from past errors and adopt a “next man up” mentality within the coaching staff, mirroring the approach we have with our players.
