The well-received Netflix documentary series, Sunderland ‘Til I Die, is gearing up for its final season. Originally launched in 2018, the series provided an in-depth look into Sunderland’s 2017/18 season, marking the team’s return to the Championship after facing relegation from the Premier League in the preceding season.
The initial season of the show received widespread acclaim, not only for its production quality but also for the compelling drama it captured. Unfortunately, the Black Cats experienced another unexpected relegation to League One after a challenging season in the second tier.
Following its successful debut, Sunderland ‘Til I Die was renewed for a second season, chronicling the club’s 2018/19 campaign under new ownership. Despite coming close to securing promotion back to the Championship, Sunderland faced a heart-wrenching defeat in the playoffs against Charlton Athletic. The Black Cats conceded the decisive goal in added time, culminating in a dramatic loss in the final match.
