Nottingham Forest has filed a complaint with the Premier League and PGMOL regarding the incident involving Ivan Toney’s free-kick.

Nottingham Forest has penned a formal letter of complaint to the Premier League and has sought an explanation from referees’ chief Howard Webb concerning the goal scored by Ivan Toney for Brentford last Saturday.

In his comeback from an eight-month gambling suspension, Toney netted Brentford’s opening goal directly from a free kick, contributing to a 3-2 victory for Thomas Frank’s team. However, the manner in which the goal was scored has prompted the defeated side to request clarification from the relevant authorities.

As Toney prepared to take the free kick, positioning himself with the defensive wall, the striker knelt down and adjusted the referee Darren England’s disappearing foam to relocate the ball to a more advantageous position.
