Jaylen Brown candidly discusses former Celtic Terry Rozier’s move to the Heat.
On January 23, the Miami Heat added former Boston Celtics guard Terry Rozier to their roster. With the Heat scheduled to face the Celtics on January 25, Jaylen Brown shared his thoughts on his ex-teammate joining Boston’s rival.
Speaking with reporters, Brown humorously remarked, “I think Terry is already a native of Miami, so I think it definitely made sense.” He expressed happiness for Rozier, noting that he fits well into the Heat’s culture, characterized by toughness, competitiveness, and a physical mindset, along with valuable playoff experience.
Brown further emphasized Rozier’s positive impact on the Heat, stating, “I think they get better for sure. Terry’s athleticism, playoff experience, all that type of stuff, I think he’ll fit right in.”
Having played together on the Celtics for three years from 2016 to 2019, Brown and Rozier experienced success, making two Eastern Conference Finals appearances and winning at least one playoff series during that period.
Although Rozier has not participated in the playoffs since leaving the Celtics, the prospect of a postseason return looms with Miami’s championship aspirations.
