Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has no plans to depart the Premier League club at the conclusion of this season for a move to Barcelona.Speculations emerged on Sunday in Spain suggesting that Arteta might leave in the summer, but Sky Sports reports confirm that he is committed to staying with Arsenal. Contrary to earlier stories that indicated Arteta had informed his staff about leaving the Emirates, the manager remains firmly associated with the London-based club.
Arteta has recently been linked with the managerial position at Barcelona, which is set to be vacant for the upcoming 2024/2025 campaign. The announcement came after Barcelona’s head coach Xavi revealed his decision to step down at the end of the current season, following a 5-3 home defeat to Villarreal. The defeat, which saw Barcelona concede twice in added time at the Nou Camp, leaves them trailing LaLiga leaders Girona by 11 points.
Mikel Arteta, 41, assumed the managerial role at Arsenal in November 2019, succeeding Unai Emery. This marked his first experience in a senior managerial position.
