Ohio State safety Caleb Downs revealed that he received over 100 calls within a seven- to eight-hour timeframe after he entered the transfer portal following Nick Saban’s retirement at Alabama. In a recent 15-minute press session, Downs spoke with reporters for the first time since committing to Ohio State. The five-star recruit from the Class of 2023, who earned Freshman All-American honors last year with 107 tackles and two interceptions, had been a highly sought-after player. Before ultimately choosing Ohio State on January 19, Downs had narrowed down his decision to his home state of Georgia and Ohio State.
