The Steelers are deliberating a “crucial decision” regarding the potential exercise of Najee Harris’ fifth-year option.
Steelers owner Art Rooney II addressed various topics in a Monday media meeting, including discussions about the future of running back Najee Harris.
As the 2021 first-round pick enters his fourth NFL season, the team is faced with the decision of whether to exercise the fifth-year option on his contract. Despite Harris achieving over 1,000 rushing yards for the third consecutive year and achieving a career-best average of 4.1 yards per carry, Rooney stated that the team is currently evaluating all available options.
Rooney emphasized the considerable thought and analysis that goes into such decisions, mentioning that the team will be actively working on this, along with other offseason priorities, leading up to the draft in May.
