Regarding This Patriots Offensive Coordinator Candidate, NFL Seems Not Interested.
The Patriots conducted an interview with Luke Getsy on Tuesday for the open offensive coordinator position. However, if they decide to hire Getsy, it appears that not everyone in the NFL will view it as an impressive move.
Mike Giardi of Boston Sports Journal, who was present at the 2024 Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama, reached out to NFL sources to gather insights on New England’s offensive coordinator search. Giardi noted in his Tuesday report that some of the names, including Luke Getsy, drew indifferent reactions from sources he spoke to in Alabama.
Luke Getsy served as the offensive coordinator for the Chicago Bears in the past two seasons. However, after being let go earlier this month, he was replaced by Shane Waldron, who also interviewed for the Patriots’ offensive coordinator position.
Reports suggest that New England has either interviewed or plans to interview a total of 11 candidates for the offensive coordinator role, with Nick Caley being considered the frontrunner for the position. In a separate development, the Patriots reportedly hired Jeremy Springer, formerly of the Los Angeles Rams, as their new special teams coach on Wednesday.
