Two years ago, the Pittsburgh Steelers created a new coaching position to bring in former Miami Dolphins head coach Brian Flores. On the All Steelers Talk’s February 2 episode, hosts Noah Strackbein and Stephen Thompson advocated for a similar approach with Mike Vrabel. They suggested that the Steelers should be so enthusiastic about the prospect of hiring Vrabel that they present him with an offer he cannot resist.
Thompson expressed, “If you can secure Mike Vrabel, you go for it; it’s not really a matter of ability or anything. It’s a situation where I’m not even sure you need to extensively interview him; it’s more about asking, ‘Do you want to join us?’ It’s a pretty straightforward scenario. If Mike Vrabel expresses interest, the Steelers should be eager to bring him on board. I’m uncertain about the specifics of the compensation for an assistant like him.”
