Jesse Minter, the former defensive coordinator for the Michigan Wolverines, is expected to join the coaching staff of the Los Angeles Chargers under his previous head coach Jim Harbaugh. According to information from Aaron McMann of MLive.com, sources have indicated that Minter is set to join the Chargers by the end of the week. This move will mark the second addition from the Wolverines coaching staff to Harbaugh’s team for the 2024 season.

McMann reports that Minter has been communicating his intention to take on the new role with his Michigan players. As of now, neither Los Angeles nor Minter has officially announced this coaching change.

If Jay Harbaugh, Jim Harbaugh’s son, also joins the Chargers’ staff, it means that Sherrone Moore, the new head coach for the Wolverines, will have to fill all three coordinator positions for the upcoming season. This comes just one season after Michigan’s College Football Playoff championship. Additionally, former Wolverines strength coach Ben Herbert has already joined Jim Harbaugh in Los Angeles.
