The Cleveland Browns encountered a significant number of injuries last season, which, according to Myles Garrett, he believes prevented the team from making its first-ever Super Bowl appearance in franchise history.
During an appearance on ESPN’s First Take on February 9, the reigning Defensive Player of the Year, in response to a question from Stephen A. Smith, shared his perspective on how things might have been different if injuries hadn’t plagued so many key players, impacting the Browns’ otherwise impressive regular-season performance.
Garrett expressed, “I believe that if we had maintained our health, there’s no reason we wouldn’t be playing this Sunday. It’s painful to think about the injuries to players like [Deshaun Watson] and [Nick] Chubb, along with other significant injuries we faced. However, I take pride in the men I had in the locker room and the brotherhood we built from training camp throughout the season. Despite the adversity and challenges, it was remarkable to witness how those guys came together and fought through it.”
