A familiar face is making a return to Ann Arbor to join Sherrone Moore’s revamped coaching staff for Michigan football. According to a report from 247Sports, Stephen Adegoke is set to assume the role of defensive backs coach, filling the position left vacant by Steve Clinkscale, who departed to join Jim Harbaugh with the Chargers. Adegoke brings recent NFL coaching experience, having served as a defensive quality control coach with the 49ers in 2022 and as the safeties coach for the Houston Texans in 2023.

Prior to his NFL stint, Adegoke spent the 2021 season as a graduate assistant on Michigan’s coaching staff. His coaching journey commenced in 2019 as a graduate assistant with Florida, where he spent two seasons before joining the Wolverines for a year.
