While Deshaun Watson, the quarterback for the Browns, has already served an 11-game suspension in 2022 related to allegations of sexual misconduct from over two dozen women, the potential for additional consequences looms based on the outcome of one remaining case.
According to a report by Brent Schrotenboer from USA Today, Watson is compelled to undergo another in-person deposition before August 1. This particular case involves the last of the 26 women who accused him of sexual misconduct during massage sessions.
As Schrotenboer outlines, Watson had already been deposed in this case in Houston the previous summer. However, the deposition was prematurely halted after two hours and 14 minutes because Watson’s attorney, Rusty Hardin, reportedly improperly instructed him not to answer specific questions related to other cases.
Although lawyers commonly advise their clients to avoid answering certain questions during sworn depositions, this situation has resulted in Watson being summoned to testify again.
