The former talented key star of detroit lions joins Washington Commanders as a coaching staff in..
It turns out that a new addition to the Washington Commanders coaching staff is coming from the Lions after all. Following Ben Johnson’s decision to remain in Detroit instead of accepting the Commanders’ head coach position, they opted for Dan Quinn from the Dallas Cowboys. Quinn has been assembling his team, and among the new hires is David Blough, a former Lions quarterback, as the assistant quarterbacks coach.
Blough concluded the 2023 season on the Lions practice squad, also acting as the third quarterback for the team. He had previously been with the Lions from 2019 to 2021, and his departure from the roster was documented on Hard Knocks. Subsequently, he had stints with the Minnesota Vikings and Arizona Cardinals.
Beyond his football career, Blough gained attention when his wife, Melissa Gonzalez, participated in Olympic trials, and his viral reaction became notable. Lions coach Dan Campbell consistently praised Blough for his professionalism and preparedness, qualities that have now led him to transition into coaching. In his new role, he will be the assistant quarterbacks coach under Tavita Pritchard and Kliff Kingsbury.
