History made for Tennessee Vols Baseball In Game Two with a ‘TRIPLE PLAY!’
In the second game of the season, the Tennessee Volunteers achieved a significant milestone by executing their first triple play since 1997 against the Oklahoma Sooners on Saturday night.
During the seventh inning of a tied game at 1-1, left-handed pitcher Chris Stamos, making his debut, showcased remarkable skill on the field. In an attempt to advance the runners on base to third and second, the Sooners opted for a bunt. As the bunt popped up, Stamos executed a diving catch and swiftly threw to second, securing the second out after the advancing runner tried to move to third. Simultaneously, Christian Moore completed the triple play by tagging the advancing runner at second base. This pivotal play not only changed the course of the game for Tennessee but also provided a significant momentum boost for the Orange and White.
