The University of Tennessee Volunteers will be receiving a recruiting visit from a Georgia Bulldogs Legendary player.
The Tennessee Vols may see a visit this spring from a player with Georgia Bulldogs lineage. This week, recruiting analyst Adam Friedman from Rivals.com highlighted that four-star linebacker Thomas Davis Jr, set for the 2026 class, is gearing up for spring visits, with Tennessee potentially being among the schools he considers.
Friedman reported, “The Rivals250 linebacker is scheduled to visit Clemson on March 9 and is planning visits to Notre Dame, Ohio State, North Carolina, Georgia, Virginia Tech, NC State, and possibly Tennessee.”
Thomas Davis Jr, the son of former Georgia Bulldogs linebacker Thomas Davis, selected in the first round of the 2005 NFL Draft by the Carolina Panthers (where he played for 16 seasons and earned three Pro Bowl selections), has family ties deeply rooted in football. While the elder Davis originates from Georgia, the family has been based in the Charlotte area due to his extended tenure with the Panthers from 2005 to 2018.
Measuring 6 feet 2 inches and weighing 205 pounds, Davis Jr, from Matthews, NC, holds an impressive ranking in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the nation’s No. 3 linebacker and the No. 5 player in North Carolina. Additionally, he is positioned as the No. 67 overall player in the 2026 recruiting class.
Although the Vols may not currently be considered frontrunners in Davis Jr’s recruitment, there’s ample time for developments. Securing a visit from him this spring could potentially position Tennessee as a significant contender for the legacy player with Georgia connections.
