Earlier in the week, I had predicted that the Fins/Raiders game would be a quick victory, possibly ending in the early rounds. However, it turned out to be a prolonged 12-round affair, concluding with Miami securing a 27-20 win over the visiting Raiders. The significant presence of Raiders fans, donned in black, in the lower bowl behind the Raider bench suggested either strong travel support or a sizable Raiders fan base in South Florida. Despite having a rookie Head Coach with just two games of experience and a Quarterback with a similarly limited starting record, the game consistently stayed within a touchdown margin.
While it’s acknowledged that any win in the NFL is valuable and winning is challenging, the Dolphins’ offensive performance in this game was insufficient to compete against high-quality teams. The question of blame arises, prompting a closer examination in this week’s GBU list.
