Miami Heat forward Haywood Highsmith is currently facing a challenging situation off the basketball court following the All-Star Weekend break. According to reports, the 21-year-old man who lost his leg in a car accident on Feb. 6 is suing Highsmith. The incident occurred shortly after the Miami Heat’s victory over the Orlando Magic at the Kaseya Center.
The lawsuit was filed by Alekxei Pino on Friday in Florida. Pino alleges that he was assisting a stranded motorist in Miami on Feb. 6 when Highsmith collided with him at a high speed in his 2021 Audi A5. As per TMZ, Pino claims in the lawsuit that Highsmith exceeded the legal speed limit, resulting in an above-the-knee amputation.
