Walsh made appearances in four games over a span of five weeks, achieving his first and only NBA basket on February 4 during a 131-91 victory against the Memphis Grizzlies. Selected as the 38th pick in the 2023 draft, Walsh joined two other Hogs, Anthony Black and Nick Smith Jr., in transitioning to the league. Hailing from Desoto, Texas, Walsh had a notable college career, contributing to a Sweet Sixteen run during his lone season as a Razorback, where he averaged 7.1 points in 36 games, including 22 starts.

Despite his limited time with the Celtics, Walsh has already left a positive impression. Both Payton Pritchard and 2018 All-Star Kristaps Porzingis commended his energy and athleticism. Following a career-high 18 minutes in a 136-86 victory over the Brooklyn Nets on February 14, where Walsh didn’t score but secured five rebounds and posted a +/- of 8, the Celtics are recognizing his potential.
