The Tennessee Vols are said to be parting ways with an off-field assistant swiftly making strides in the coaching realm. According to Football Scoop’s John Brice, Kody Cook, the offensive analyst at Tennessee, is set to leave Rocky Top for the position of wide receivers coach at Old Dominion.

Kody Cook, a former college football player at Kansas State, had previously served as the wide receivers coach at Hutchinson Community College in 2021. He joined Josh Heupel’s coaching staff as a graduate assistant in preparation for the 2022 season.

Prior to his stint at Kansas State, Cook spent two years as a player at Hutchinson. In his initial year at Hutchinson in 2011, he was teammates with Cordarrelle Patterson, who later transferred from Hutchinson to Tennessee after the 2011 season.

As Kody Cook takes on the role of wide receivers coach at Old Dominion, his name is poised to be noteworthy in the future, particularly when the Vols have openings on the offensive coaching staff.
