Alabama football has officially introduced Courtney Morgan as the general manager, confirming a move that has been anticipated since he arrived with new head coach Kalen DeBoer at Tuscaloosa National Airport on the day the University of Alabama hired Nick Saban’s successor. Morgan, who previously held the same position under DeBoer at Washington, expressed enthusiasm for continuing the high standards set by Alabama football.

In a statement released by UA athletics, Morgan outlined his responsibilities, which include overseeing the roster, day-to-day operations of recruiting and personnel departments, managing film evaluations and prospect communications, coordinating transfer portal assessments, and supervising internal brand management. Having played college football at Michigan, Morgan joined DeBoer’s staff at Washington after working for the Wolverines in the 2021 season.

Coach DeBoer praised Morgan’s significance within the program, highlighting his extensive relationships across the country and his crucial role in recruiting and talent evaluation at both high school and transfer levels. Morgan’s appointment is seen as a key element in achieving Alabama’s goals, and DeBoer expressed excitement about bringing him to Tuscaloosa.
