Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna has disclosed that Manchester United defender Brandon Williams has encountered a setback in his recuperation at Carrington.
Williams, who joined the Championship promotion hopefuls on a season-long loan last summer, underwent a ‘medical assessment’ upon his return to United last month. Following a string of repeated illnesses and minor injuries, the decision was made for him to go back to his parent club.
McKenna, who has been performing well since taking over as Ipswich manager in December 2021, initially anticipated Williams to return to Portman Road within a maximum of two weeks, as stated on February 2. However, he has now confirmed that Williams is still with United, facing a setback on his path to recovery.
