The Las Vegas Raiders officially named JoJo Wooden as their new director of player personnel.
On Monday, the Las Vegas Raiders officially named JoJo Wooden as their new director of player personnel. This appointment signifies a reunion between Wooden and the recently appointed general manager of the Raiders, Tom Telesco. The two had previously collaborated during their time with the Los Angeles Chargers, where Wooden held the role of director of player personnel from 2013 to 2023.
Wooden’s wealth of experience and proficiency in player personnel management takes center stage as he assumes his new responsibilities with the Raiders. Notably, he took on the role of interim general manager for the Chargers during the final three games of the previous season after Telesco’s departure. However, the Chargers later opted for Joe Hortiz as their permanent general manager.
Before his tenure with the Chargers, Wooden enjoyed a lengthy career with the New York Jets spanning 16 seasons, from 1997 to 2012. In his latter years with the Jets, he held the position of assistant director of player personnel, playing a significant role in shaping the team’s strategies for acquiring players.
