The Eagles made their presence felt at the 2024 NFL combine, with all attention on GM Howie Roseman and head coach Nick Sirianni fielding questions. Roseman touched on Haason Reddick vaguely, discussed free agency, and surprisingly revealed the team’s commitment to cornerback James Bradberry.

Roseman emphasized that Bradberry is firmly in the Eagles’ plans for 2024, specifically assigned to the outside cornerback role. While there’s a possibility of sharing snaps with Kelee Ringo, any move to cut or trade the former All-Pro cornerback would have significant financial consequences.

Cutting Bradberry outright, as per Over the Cap, would incur a $10.9 million cap hit for the Eagles, along with an additional $15.2 million in dead cap space. Despite the struggles of Philadelphia’s pass defense ranking 31st in the league in 2023, new defensive coordinator Vic Fangio might opt to go with younger cornerbacks.

Pro Football Focus noted that after Bradberry’s second-team All-Pro selection in 2022, he allowed 56 receptions for 689 yards and nine touchdowns. However, the Eagles won’t save any money by parting ways with him and are set to proceed with their plans for Bradberry in the upcoming season.
