The Sooners Face Offensive Line Rebuild as Five Starters Head to NFL Draft and Transfer..
The Oklahoma Sooners are tasked with the challenge of replacing five starters from last year’s lineup. Walter Rouse, Andrew Raym, McKade Mettauer, and Tyler Guyton have set their sights on the NFL Draft, while Cayden Green has joined the Missouri Tigers.
While Jacob Sexton, who started in the latter part of the previous season, is returning and generating discussions about becoming the next standout offensive lineman for Oklahoma, Troy Everett, who played and started at guard, is expected to shift back to his natural position at center.
As of now, Sexton is the only player likely to secure a starting role. This leaves four positions up for grabs, with contenders such as transfers Spencer Brown, Febechi Nwaiwu, Geiran Hatchett, and Michael Tarquin vying for starting roles. Additionally, Jake Taylor, Heath Ozaeta, and Joshua Bates are gaining attention and could play significant roles on the offensive line. The incoming freshmen class, including Eugene Brooks, Eddy Pierre-Louis, Daniel Akinkunmi, Isaiah Autry, and Josh Aisosa, is also touted as impressive and may contribute to the team’s offensive line this fall.”
