Carolina Panthers General Manager alongside the rest of the Panthers’ front office…
Carolina Panthers General Manager Dan Morgan, alongside the rest of the Panthers’ front office, is set to engage in discussions with agent Todd France this week, aiming to finalize a long-term contract for pass rusher Brian Burns.
Morgan mentioned on Tuesday, “We’re still working through those conversations. We’re actually meeting with his agent within the next couple of days. We’ll have a little more clarity on the situation after that, but we’re working on it. I think right now, all options are on the table. What those options are… I’ll find out. I’ll have more clarity on that after I meet with the agent.”
In the event that an agreement is not reached, the Panthers would likely resort to using the franchise tag, providing them with additional time. However, if negotiations completely break down, the Detroit Lions emerge as a sensible destination for the talented young player.
