The kickoff to the weekend brings positive news for Kentucky football as Isaiah West, a three-star running back from the class of 2025, has committed to the program, as revealed to KSR+.

Expressing his enthusiasm, West stated, “I’m excited to get to work. I can’t wait to see how this journey unfolds.”

Hailing from St. Joseph’s in Philadelphia, PA, the 5-foot-11, 210-pound running back attended Kentucky’s Junior Day on Feb. 3, and he emphasized that the visit significantly influenced his commitment decision. During that trip, West formed a strong bond with Kentucky’s running backs coach, Jay Boulware.

“I really like Coach Boulware, and I think he can take me to another level,” West commented, citing Boulware’s extensive coaching experience, including working with Joe Mixon at Oklahoma and Najee Harris with the Pittsburgh Steelers. West envisions a similar impactful role for himself within the Kentucky program under Boulware’s guidance.

Describing his fit into the Kentucky offense, West remarked, “I can fit really well into the Kentucky offense.” He highlighted his extensive day spent with Coach Boulware and the Kentucky staff after the Tennessee basketball game, showcasing his commitment to the recruitment process.

In addition to the football aspects, West had the opportunity to explore the non-football offerings at Kentucky. With aspirations to study sports medicine in college, he met with a former UK football player currently pursuing a career in the medical field, providing a glimpse into the broader academic and professional opportunities offered by the university.
