Available on the market are top-tier pitchers such as Jordan Montgomery and Blake Snell, but there are also…
Among the mid-tier options, Michael Lorenzen stands out as particularly intriguing. He secured his first All-Star nomination last season and delivered an impressive performance with the Detroit Tigers before being traded to the Philadelphia Phillies.
Although his future destination remains uncertain, reports suggest that Lorenzen is seeking a two-year contract valued at approximately $20 million, as indicated by insights from The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal.
“Free-agent right-hander Michael Lorenzen is actively pursuing a two-year deal, according to sources familiar with his plans,” Rosenthal reported. “Lorenzen, aged 32, earned $9.25 million last season, including $750,000 in incentives. A two-year deal with an increased average annual value would likely secure him around a $20 million guarantee.”
The Boston Red Sox, currently in search of pitching reinforcements, have expressed interest in multiple arms, with Jordan Montgomery being a prominent name. Lorenzen has also been identified as a potential option for the Red Sox’s rotation.
