Tennessee, with a season record of 17-11 (10-6 SEC), holds the No. 5 seed for the 2024 SEC Tournament, commencing its opening game on Thursday at Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, S.C.

Despite tying with Alabama (23-8, 10-6 SEC) for the fourth spot in the league standings, Tennessee conceded the No. 4 seed to the Crimson Tide. This decision followed UT’s recent loss to No. 1 South Carolina in Columbia, where they fell 76-68, while Alabama secured their position by triumphing over Texas A&M with a score of 78-71.

Scheduled to play the second game on Thursday around 2:15 p.m. ET, after the noon matchup between No. 8 Mississippi State and No. 9 Texas A&M, the Lady Vols will face the winner of the Wednesday clash between No. 12 Kentucky (11-19, 4-12 SEC) and No. 13 Georgia (12-18, 3-13 SEC).

In the 2023-24 season, UT maintained a 1-0 record against Georgia, defeating the Lady Bulldogs 95-73 on Feb. 1 in Athens. Additionally, the Big Orange women secured a 1-0 record against Kentucky, handling the Wildcats 87-69 in Knoxville on Jan. 7.

Having a historical advantage, UT boasts an 8-3 record against the Wildcats and a 10-3 record against the Lady Bulldogs in previous SEC Tournament meetings.
