DAIYLY REPORT: The Razorback coaching staff has persisted in targeting top-tier prospects…
After a challenging 2023 season, the Razorback coaching staff has persisted in targeting top-tier prospects. With the 2024 class signed and mostly present on campus, Sam Pittman and his team have shifted their focus to evaluating potential recruits for the 2025, 2026, and even the 2027 seasons.
One standout in the class of 2026 is KJ Edwards, hailing from Carthage, Texas. As a 4-star recruit, he holds the No. 96 rank in his class, securing the 6th position among running backs and the 13th spot among prospects in the Lone Star state.
Standing at 5-foot-9 and weighing 175 pounds, Edwards made a significant impact in East Texas during his sophomore year, amassing 1,706 rushing yards and 24 touchdowns with an impressive average of 10 yards per carry. His stellar performance propelled the Bulldogs to a 13-1 record and a place in the Texas 4A, Division II state quarterfinals.
Edwards has received offers from 11 institutions, including Arkansas, Baylor, Georgia, Houston, Oklahoma State, and SMU.
Carthage’s football program has a strong reputation for producing high-caliber prospects, with Ty’kieast Crawford currently representing Arkansas from the school. Notably, former wide receiver commit Kelvontay Dixon initially pledged to the Razorbacks but ultimately signed with Texas following the departure of Chad Morris.
In the case of 2026 defensive end Hunter Higgins, his impressive size at 6-foot-5 and 230 pounds has already garnered attention. After visiting the Razorbacks on Sunday, he left with a coveted offer.
