Leeds United on the verge of finalizing their first summer signing, a top notch defender from Spurs.

Leeds United is set to initiate discussions with Tottenham Hotspur to secure Joe Rodon’s permanent signing, irrespective of their promotion status back to the Premier League. Recent reports, including one from GiveMeSport, suggest that Leeds has a strong chance of making Rodon’s loan move permanent, and their current league standing won’t hinder negotiations with Tottenham’s Daniel Levy.

Having joined on a season-long loan last summer, the 26-year-old Welsh defender, under the management of Daniel Farke, has proven to be a standout performer at the heart of Leeds United’s defense. Despite uncertainties surrounding their promotion, Leeds is reportedly keen on retaining Rodon, and the upcoming talks with Tottenham could pave the way for a permanent deal.

Rodon, whose contract with Spurs is set to expire in less than 18 months, is currently valued at €6 million according to Transfermarkt. With his impressive performances, especially in the Championship, Leeds sees an opportunity to secure a valuable and cost-effective signing. The Welsh international has featured in 38 games this season, including 33 starts in the Championship, showcasing his defensive prowess and adding significant depth to Leeds United’s squad.
