REPORT: “Jackson Joins Steelers in Trade Agreement”

Obtained through a trade with the Panthers, Jackson is joining the Steelers as part of a deal that involved Diontae Johnson and draft picks. The Steelers have been interested in Jackson since he entered the NFL as a second-round pick from LSU in 2018.

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin personally witnessed Jackson’s impressive performance at LSU’s pro day in 2018, where he clocked a 4.31-second 40-yard dash, surpassing his NFL Scouting Combine time of 4.32 seconds. Tomlin was one of only two head coaches present at the event.

Reflecting on his journey, Jackson, now 28, expressed gratitude towards Coach Tomlin and the Steelers organization for their consistent interest in him. He mentioned how Tomlin had been supportive since his college days and even during his contract negotiations with the Panthers. Despite previous attempts, Jackson is now thrilled to be a part of the Steelers, feeling that it’s a fitting opportunity.
