While visiting East Lansing to explore Michigan State University’s offerings, Sularksi couldn’t help but take notice of a standout player on the Tennessee Volunteers team. During Knecht’s inaugural appearance wearing the orange jersey, he delivered an impressive performance, scoring 28 points with a 50% shooting accuracy, which included a memorable dunk that left a lasting impression.
For Sularksi, a high school prospect who shares similar physical attributes with the Vols’ senior player, this performance grabbed his attention.
“I didn’t know much about them initially, but when Dalton came onto my radar and I attended their exhibition game against Michigan State, that’s when I really started paying attention to them, and soon after they offered me a scholarship,” explained Sularksi. “I’ve been shaping my game around Dalton’s style. He’s been a huge inspiration for me, and I’ve been closely following his journey.”
