“Dreiling’s Two-Run Homer Swings Momentum Towards Tennessee in Third Inning”
Tennessee began the game by loading the bases in the opening inning, managing to score a run but ultimately leaving them stranded. Alabama quickly responded in the bottom of the first inning with a home run from TJ McCants. Ian Petrutz then added a solo home run of his own, putting the Crimson Tide ahead 2-1 as they headed into the second inning.
In the second inning, Alabama positioned runners for scoring opportunities, but Causey delivered a crucial strikeout to close the inning, preventing further damage.
Dylan Dreiling shifted the momentum back to Tennessee in the third inning with a two-run homer.
Blake Burke extended Tennessee’s lead in the fourth inning with a two-run home run, pushing the score to 5-2. The Vols continued to add runs with a two-out rally in the fifth inning. Cannon Peebles singled to bring Dreiling home, followed by a double from Dalton Bargo that scored Dean Curley and Peebles.
The offensive display persisted as Kavares Tears contributed a two-run homer, increasing Tennessee’s lead to 10-2 by the seventh inning.
