The New York Jets have taken another step to strengthen their offensive line.
Reports indicate that veteran Dallas Cowboys tackle Tyron Smith has reached an agreement with the Jets. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the contract is for one year and could potentially reach $20 million with incentives.
Throughout his 13-year tenure with the Cowboys, Smith garnered eight Pro Bowl selections and was named a first-team All-Pro twice. Despite grappling with injuries — having missed at least three games every season since 2016, and playing only two games in 2020 and four in 2022 — Smith’s consistent performance and veteran presence are expected to provide significant support to a Jets offensive line that struggled last season.
