Young Winger Added to Blues’ Starting Lineup Due to Chaplin’s Injury Ahead of Portman Road Clash…
The Blues’ starting lineup saw the inclusion of the young winger, aged just 20, due to Conor Chaplin’s injury during midweek training before the Portman Road clash.
Even without Chaplin’s injury, some fans at Portman Road were eager to witness the Chelsea loanee play centrally, especially after his impressive performances against Birmingham City and Rotherham United.
Under Kieran McKenna’s management, the team, who had suffered a 2-1 defeat against Cardiff City in their previous outing, displayed relentless determination across the pitch. They opened the scoring on the 15th minute as Hutchinson unleashed a low shot from the edge of the box, finding the bottom corner.
Cameron Burgess, once again chosen to represent Australia this month, doubled Town’s lead on the 37th minute, followed by Nathan Broadhead securing a third goal just before halftime.
In the second half, Broadhead turned provider, setting up Hutchinson for his second goal and Town’s fourth of the match. Substitute Ali Al-Hamadi then came off the bench to score two more goals, further increasing the lead against the struggling Owls.
