“Sydney Kings Make NBL History with Record-Breaking Crowd Attendance”

The Sydney Kings made history by attracting the largest crowd ever seen in NBL history.

A staggering 18,049 enthusiastic Kings supporters filled the stands of Qudos Bank Arena for Game 3 of the 2023 NBL Championship Series against the New Zealand Breakers.

This impressive turnout surpassed the previous record of 17,514, which was also set in Qudos Bank Arena back in 2019. At that time, fans gathered to witness LaMelo Ball, now an NBA star, play for the Illawarra Hawks against the Kings.

According to reports from Fox Sports, Friday’s record-breaking attendance also marks the third largest crowd in the history of Australian basketball, trailing only behind two exhibition games featuring Team USA at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium in 2019.

In addition to this historic milestone, the Sydney Kings moved one step closer to securing back-to-back NBL championships following their commanding 91-68 victory over the NZ Breakers.
