At the beginning of the season, Galvin joined the Wests Tigers on a three-year contract, following an impressive junior career highlighted by Australian Schoolboys recognition and winning the prestigious 2023 Peter Sterling Medal, which is bestowed upon the NRL Schoolboy Cup’s top player.
In a recent interview with this publication, Galvin disclosed that he initially started his rugby journey in the Parramatta Eels junior system. However, he was later informed that there wouldn’t be a spot for him in the club’s long-term plans—a decision the Eels may now regret.
Reflecting on his beginnings, Galvin shared, “I began at Parra, playing in their junior competition and progressing through their representative teams until I reached Harold Matthews level.” However, limited playing opportunities prompted him to seek opportunities elsewhere. “Realizing there might not be a future for me there, I decided to try my luck elsewhere. Living in Campbelltown, I thought I’d give Wests a shot.”
His move paid off, as Galvin explained, “In my second year at Wests, we clinched the Harold Matthews title, and from there, my career has been on an upward trajectory.”
