“White Highlights Moodie’s Future at Outside Center Ahead of Saturday’s Game”
Moodie will transition from his usual position on the wing to outside center as the Vodacom Bulls aim to maintain their impressive streak in the URC with the first of two consecutive away matches.
This marks Moodie’s debut wearing the No 13 jersey for the Bulls this season, although he’s no stranger to the role, having previously played as a center for the Springboks during the 2023 World Cup.
Partnering with Moodie in the midfield will be the experienced Harold Voster, while veteran fullback Willie le Roux returns to the starting lineup to offer support.
Looking ahead to Saturday’s game, White emphasized that outside center is where Moodie’s future lies. “I’ve always wanted to see him in the centers for various reasons. It’s great that he also desires to play in that position; I can sense an added enthusiasm in him,” White remarked.
He added, “We are fortunate to have depth in our outside backs compared to the center position. Considering the balance and strength of our backline, there’s an opportunity for Moodie to transition to 13.”
Highlighting Moodie’s defensive prowess, White stated, “One of his standout qualities is his defensive ability. He relishes tackling and is one of the best tacklers I’ve coached because he genuinely enjoys defending.”
