” Tennessee’s Vigorous Pursuit of David Sanders Signals Strong Contention for His Commitment “

The Tennessee Vols’ primary target for the remaining 2025 recruiting cycle is highly coveted offensive lineman David Sanders Jr., who boasts a five-star rating.

Sanders, hailing from Charlotte, NC, stands tall at 6-foot-6 and weighs 270 lbs. He holds the prestigious title of being ranked as the nation’s top offensive tackle and the second-best overall player in the 2025 recruiting class according to 247Sports’ composite rankings.

Tennessee is actively pursuing Sanders and is in contention to secure his commitment, facilitated by his close rapport with five-star quarterback and Vols commit, George MacIntyre.

However, Clemson, Georgia, and Ohio State, among others, are also vying for Sanders’ commitment. Clemson, in particular, poses a significant threat to Tennessee’s recruitment efforts, given Sanders’ deep-rooted allegiance to the Tigers since childhood.

Reflecting on his affinity for Clemson, Sanders shared with On3 this week, “Clemson has something a lot of other schools don’t. I grew up a diehard Clemson fan. I remember those days as a middle schooler, staying up late to watch them play in the national championship games. It’s just a very unique place and I love everything about them.”
