After more than four decades of coaching experience and having already secured rugby’s ultimate prize, Jake White’s passion for the game remains unwavering.

“When someone asked me the other day, ‘How long do you plan to keep coaching?'”, shares the 60-year-old Vodacom Bulls head coach, “I replied, ‘As long as my love for it endures.'”

“I consider myself very fortunate. Coaching rugby in a country where it’s the national sport, and leading a team that brings joy to people, a team that’s on an upward trajectory. It doesn’t get much better than this. So, my love for it is still intact.”

White’s extensive coaching career has seen him lead teams in various parts of the world, including stints in Australia (Brumbies), France (Montpellier), Japan (Toyota Verblitz), and Tonga, where he worked with the national team.

Moreover, his significant contribution to South African rugby is undeniable, particularly his tenure as head coach of the Springboks, whom he guided to World Cup triumph in 2007.
