According to former Jim Harbaugh player, the Chargers have a long list of top players to draft from Michigan wolverines.

A player who previously played under Jim Harbaugh predicts that the Chargers will draft ‘numerous’ players from Michigan in the draft.

  1. After a highly successful nine-year tenure coaching his alma mater, the University of Michigan Wolverines, Jim Harbaugh has opted to take the helm of another former team, the Los Angeles Chargers.

A former Pro Bowler with the Indianapolis Colts, Harbaugh spent the final years of his playing career attempting to mentor a young Ryan Leaf on the then-San Diego Chargers from 1999-2000. He concluded his career with the Carolina Panthers in 2001.

Now, according to one of his recent players from the national champion Wolverines, it seems likely that Harbaugh will bring several Michigan players with him to the professional ranks. During a recent conversation on Fox Sports’ NFL On Fox Podcast, Wolverines wide receiver Roman Wilson suggested that Harbaugh may be interested in selecting him in the upcoming draft. All 18 Michigan players participated in this year’s NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if like all nine of us end up going [to the Chargers],” Wilson remarked. Los Angeles currently holds nine selections in the draft. “But seriously, at least five or six. I think he’s going to take a lot of us.”

Wilson could still be available when the Chargers are on the clock with the No. 37 pick in the draft’s second round. Given the team’s need for wide receiver assistance, it could be a suitable match.
