NFL Mock Draft: Baltimore Ravens Reunite Ladd McConkey with Offensive Coordinator Todd Monken

Less than a fortnight remains until the 2024 NFL Draft kicks off. With the 30th overall pick in the first round, the Baltimore Ravens face the pressing question of how to address their top priority on the draft board.

Whether bolstering the secondary or providing added protection for quarterback Lamar Jackson, Baltimore stands poised to bring in a transformative talent. However, should the focus not also include wide receiver considerations for the Ravens?

With Odell Beckham Jr. exiting after a disappointing season and Rashod Bateman failing to establish himself as a primary target, Baltimore finds itself in a prime position to acquire a standout wide receiver prospect.

In the latest CBS Sports mock draft, the Ravens opt to add yet another pass-catching option for Jackson, possibly reuniting him with a talented first-round receiver under the guidance of their offensive coordinator.

“While it may come as a surprise given Baltimore’s recent history of selecting wide receivers in the first round, the Ravens have studied tape with Lamar Jackson and are enamored with Ladd McConkey’s route-running prowess,” CBS noted.

Selecting McConkey would immediately form a dynamic duo alongside Zay Flowers, leveraging McConkey’s exceptional route-running abilities, as demonstrated effectively by their offensive scheme.

Despite the desires of many Ravens fans for defensive reinforcements or offensive linemen to fill gaps left by John Simpson or Morgan Moses, the allure of talents like McConkey makes wide receiver a highly enticing option for Baltimore with the 30th overall pick.
