Tramon Mark transfers to the Texas Longhorns following a single season with the Arkansas Razorbacks.

Tramon Mark, a 6-6 guard who led the University of Arkansas men’s basketball team in scoring this season with an average of 16.2 points per game, has decided to transfer to a new SEC rival, according to a report from On3.com. Mark, who announced his entry into the transfer portal on April 7th, has committed to playing for Texas.

This move comes as Texas and Oklahoma are set to depart from the Big 12 conference to join the SEC starting from the 2024-25 season. While the SEC schedule for the upcoming season hasn’t been finalized, it’s expected that the Razorbacks and the Longhorns will face off at least once.

For Mark, Texas will mark his third collegiate team. Previously, he played three seasons at Houston, starting 41 of 76 games for the Cougars, before transferring to Arkansas this past year. He was granted a medical redshirt for the 2021-22 season due to a shoulder injury that limited him to just seven games, requiring surgery.

Originally from Dickinson, Texas, Mark appeared in 31 games for Arkansas this season, starting in 28 of them and averaging 32.5 minutes per game. Notably, he scored a career-high 35 points in a crucial victory over Texas A&M, sealing the win with a game-winning shot. Additionally, he scored 34 points in a matchup against North Carolina during the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament in The Bahamas.

Despite his impressive performances, Mark faced setbacks due to injuries, including a hard fall against North Carolina resulting in back and hip injuries that caused him to miss a subsequent game against Duke. He also missed a game against Ole Miss due to migraine headaches.

Mark’s season came to an end when Arkansas was defeated by South Carolina in the SEC Tournament, with him recording a season-low of two points in that game.
